What to do if you're locked out
- If it's during business hours, call (214) 351-3942. We'll confirm what you're locked out of, where you are in Dallas, and our nearest available technician.
- Wait safely. If you're locked out of your car in a parking lot or your home is in a place you don't feel secure, go somewhere you do — a neighbor, a coffee shop, a friend's place — and tell us where to meet you.
- Have proof of ownership ready. We need to confirm you're the person who lives there before we open a door. Photo ID matching the address, or a lease, registration, or other documentation that connects you to the property.
- Once we arrive, the typical lockout takes 10 to 20 minutes for a residential door.
If it's after hours
We're a daytime service. After hours, you'll reach our answering service — they take your details and we follow up the next business day. After-hours dispatch is sometimes available at double the standard rate, depending on technician availability.
If you're locked out and can't wait, you have options:
- Many Dallas hotels have emergency rooms available with no reservation
- If you have a spare key with a trusted neighbor, family member, or property manager, call them first
- If it's a safety emergency, call 911 — police can sometimes assist with entry
- If you're locked out of your car, your auto club (AAA, etc.) and many insurance policies cover roadside lockout
What to ask a locksmith before they show up
Lockout scams are unfortunately common in this industry. Before any locksmith comes to your door:
- Ask for the company name and license number
- For Texas, look for a DPS license number (ours is B18894501)
- Confirm the price range before they arrive
- If they show up unmarked or won't show ID, send them away
