Types of smart locks we install
- Keypad locks — code entry, no phone required. Simple, reliable, no batteries-only-yearly setup.
- Bluetooth smart locks — unlock from your phone when you're nearby. Great for backup, less great as a sole solution.
- Wi-Fi smart locks — remote unlock and notifications via an app. Worth it if you're frequently away or manage rentals.
- Brivo access control — commercial-grade keypad and credential systems for small businesses and multi-tenant residential
- Hybrid mechanical + electronic — locks that work with a code, a key, or both, for redundancy
When smart locks make sense
- You manage a short-term rental and want to issue temporary codes
- You have housekeepers, contractors, or family members who need access on a schedule
- You're tired of carrying keys
- You want to give kids access without giving them a key they'll lose
- You want notifications when the door is unlocked
- You're rekeying anyway and want to upgrade while we're there
What we don't recommend
Some smart locks on the market are gimmicky, fragile, or sold on features that don't actually work in real life. We'll be honest about which ones we trust and which we won't install. If you've already bought a smart lock, bring it in — we'll install it correctly, but we'll also tell you if it's likely to give you trouble.
You might also need
- → Rekeying — most smart lock installs include a rekey of any remaining keyed locks
- → New home package — smart lock on the front door is the most common addition
- → Commercial access control — for larger systems
