When you need rekeying

  • You just bought or moved into a Dallas home
  • A tenant or roommate moved out and you want to invalidate their keys
  • You lost a key and want the lock secured before it's found
  • A break-in happened and the existing locks have been compromised
  • You want all your exterior doors to use a single key
  • A contractor, housekeeper, or service person had a key you've now lost track of

How it works

  1. Call us at (214) 351-3942 or stop by 7711 Inwood Rd. We confirm what locks you have and schedule a visit, or you can bring the locks to our shop.
  2. Our licensed technician arrives at your home or meets you at the shop. We remove the lock cylinders.
  3. We replace the internal pin configuration so your old keys no longer turn the lock — without replacing the lock hardware itself.
  4. We cut new keys to match the new pinning. We can match all your exterior locks to one key if you want.
  5. We test every lock with the new key and confirm everything works before leaving.

Common questions

Frequently asked

A typical Dallas home with three to five locks takes 30 to 60 minutes. Larger jobs or higher-security cylinders take longer. We always quote time before we start.

Both options work. Most customers prefer that we come to them — we'll dispatch a licensed technician during business hours. If you'd rather bring the lock cylinders to our shop, we can rekey them on the spot.

Yes. Most rekey jobs include keying multiple locks alike so one key opens every exterior door. This is the default unless you tell us otherwise.

If your locks are in good working condition, rekeying is faster and more affordable than replacement. We'll tell you honestly if a lock is too worn or damaged to rekey — sometimes replacement is the right call. See lock repair.

Yes, when done correctly. Rekeying changes the internal pin pattern so old keys won't work, which is the same security outcome as a new lock — without the hardware cost. The lock itself is unchanged, so a worn lock stays worn. That's why we'll recommend replacement if the hardware is failing.

Yes — we serve every Dallas neighborhood. We're based at 7711 Inwood Rd, near Lovers Lane, so we're a short drive from Park Cities, Preston Hollow, Highland Park, and surrounding areas.
