Specialty keys we handle
- Antique cabinet and furniture keys — desks, dressers, china cabinets, antique chests. We have blanks dating back generations.
- Vintage vehicle keys (pre-1990) — classic and collector cars, including makes that haven't been produced in decades
- High-security cylinders — Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, ASSA Abloy, Schlage Primus, Yale High-Security
- Condo and apartment specialty keys — keys for proprietary multi-family systems
- Storage unit specialty blanks — uncommon storage facility keys
- GM roof rack keys — frequently lost, never stocked at hardware stores
- Skeleton keys and warded keys — for old interior doors, antique furniture, and historic locks
- Safe deposit box keys — with proper authorization from the bank or owner
- Mailbox keys — including some USPS cluster box and apartment building mailbox keys
- Padlock keys — for high-security and uncommon padlocks
How it works
- Bring your key (or the lock itself) to 7711 Inwood Rd during business hours. Walk-ins welcome.
- We identify the key type and check whether we have a compatible blank. Identification is free.
- If we can copy it, we'll quote the price and cut it on the spot — usually in minutes.
- If we can't, we'll tell you who can — sometimes that's the manufacturer, sometimes a specialty supplier we can refer you to.
Why we can do what hardware stores can't
Hardware stores stock only the most common 20 or 30 key blanks. We carry several hundred — including blanks for keys that haven't been manufactured in decades. We also have the cutting equipment for specialty profiles (high-security keys, skeleton keys, warded keys) that big-box key kiosks aren't built for. And we've been doing this in Dallas since 1950 — there's not a lot we haven't seen.
